Please learn to package stuff properly

Just taken delivery of an order including a motherboard.

The packaging was pathetic. Bubblewrap had be wrapped in one direction only, forming a tube. The tape was then wrapped round at 90 degrees to this. This not only afforded zero protection to the sizes of the motherboard box but also resulted in the tape being affixed directly to the box.

Fortunately there was no damage this time and I managed to get the tape off without damaging the box but what about next time?

This is the second time this has happened. The first I was prepared to let go as an anomaly but now I'm simply annoyed. If this keeps up I shall stop using Scan altogether.

Please learn to package stuff properly!

I think that's a little unfair, I don't see any difference it makes what direction the bubblewrap is going or if it makes a "tube" last time I ordered stuff from scan, the items came in bubblewrap tube as well, but there was lots of it around the items to protect them from any damage.

Sellotape on the box is a bit of a pain in the neck though, you agree? If you want to keep the boxes and/or sell the items on later, you want it all in good condition.

    definitely!
unsightly tears make prospective purchasers wonder how the rest has been treated.

Use a knife to cut it, I normally do.

But I do agree, it would be nice if they didn't put it on the box.

Re: Please learn to package stuff properly

Thanks for the reply Chris, I did get an apology via email which was nice and all I was after really (plus not doing it again!).

As snooty & rabbid say, I want my goods in pristine condition without tape on them which may damage the box if I try to remove it

  8. Received thanks from:
