Question Harddrive from SCAN doesnt have a valid warranty?

A Samsung HD103UJ hard drive I bought from SCAN in September 2008 has failed.

The drive will still be under warranty so I went to the Samsung site to arrange a RMA but it says the warranty is not valid Code 103.

Code 103 The product has been brought in from outside of this service region and cannot be serviced. Please contact your reseller or distributor
Doing a search it seems SCAN know about this issue. Why werent customers informed about it.

Because the warranty is still honoured by SCAN I believe, as a 3 year warranty.

Re: Harddrive from SCAN doesnt have a valid warranty?

There's no particular reason why the warranty must be dealt with by Samsung rather than Scan, so there was nothing for Scan to tell everybody about, in my view.

Anyway, Scan have said multiple times on these forums that they will honour all warranties with Samsung hard drives, so there's no need to sweat.
