Buzzing on a Corsair 650D Case

    Hello,
I ordered a number of bits on 8th August, including the Corsair 650D case.

I've been in touch with one of the support team at Corsair (redbeard aka kelvin) in order to get hold of an updated linear fan controller, which has arrived and been fitted (I also swapped the 2x 200mm fans mounting screws over to the included rubber gromits).

However, even though I've made the above changes to stop the known problem, I haven't been able to stop the case from buzzing. The best way I can describe it is a pulsing buzz/hum, which can be felt when touching the case.

I'm not sure where to go from here really? The noise is loud enough to be an annoyance and I wouldn't expect something like that on a high end case, but I wouldn't want to RMA the case only to have the same issue.
I did hear about the "-1" models having the fixed fan controller pre applied, of which the model I received was of the older stock, would this newer stock fix the issue completely?
    Thanks for any help

As a matter of fact, I do, I think it's a 1Tb Samsung F3, I'll have to try that when I get back home.
    If that's the fix you're a genius , thanks!

I've had it before and so have others, used to drive me insane. I know exactly the sound you mean, if you want a quick test, disconnect the hard drive power and start the machine and see if the sound is still there or not.

That seems to have done the trick, thank you. But that means the 650D has poor noise dampening and leaves me with a 1Tb drive I can't use.
Any suggestions on which drive would be a good replacement? Maybe a WD Blue or Black?

Bit of a tricky one, you can either live with it and hope it doesnt drive you insane, or yeah a new drive, for speed WD Black, for power saving/storage only, a blue.

I had the same issue, but these have done the trick for me (apart from stopping the hum/noise also keeps drive cooler as well according to my HWMonitor and reviews i have seen)

That's a fair bit cheaper than picking up a new drive, thanks I'll order some of those and give it a try.
[Edit]The 650D case doesn't use standard 5 1/4 drive bays where you screw a drive in, it uses an automatic locking sled type setup. Which could prove tricky to fit that dampening kit to a drive.[/Edit]
