i placed an order for a gigabyte ga-p67a-ud3 motherboard over the weekend which i recieved today.
everythingn inside the box (cables, disk etc) was ok, but the motherboard itself seems to have been used. the anti-static bag is crumpled over at the end and the piece of tape which should be holding it shut is not stuck closed (seems strange that it is a piece of tape and not any kind of logo sticker?), when i looked at the board itself, there is thermal paste around the cpu hatch, and no stickers/protective packaging on any of the ports or chips (its been a while since i had a new mobo, but the have had stickers over the various components in the past).
i can see no reason why there would be paste around the hatch unless there has been a cpu and fan attatched to the board? in which case this board cant be "new"?
i am going to be working all week from 9-6, so will not be able to call the helpline inside office hours, and would really rather not wait untill after christmas to get this sorted out, so i am posting here in the hope that someone can help.
