    Need help with RMA-URGENT-

Hi, long time customer of scan right here, now I'm in need of some help from you guys regarding an RMA.

    In DEC 2011 I ordered a 2500k/Asus p8z68-v/8GB corsair vengeance from Scan.

They have been running great up until a month or so a go when I started to experience the odd system freeze and BSOD, BSOD was varied but the main culprit was a bad pool header, I put it down to an OS or SSD problem as I tested the ram and it was fine. No overclocking on my system either.

Come today I noticed there is a new bios update for my mob on the Asus website, so I thought I may as well try and see if it helps with my stability problems. Put the bios on a flash drive, rebooted in to the bios and loaded setup defaults as I do with every bios update. On reboot the screen did not come on, I checked the system LED's and noticed the memory light stayed on, according to the manual LED's that stay on for a certain component means there is a problem with it.

I tried using only one stick at a time in different slots with no success, I cleared the CMOS with the jumper, I removed the onboard battery and still not working, even re-seated the CPU, all this after removing all hardware connected to the mobo.

I decided to ask my mate if I could borrow one of his sticks of ram to try in my rig, it is Corsair XMS3 4GB. Still not booting up, I tried my ram in his rig and it works fine. He suggested that if the RAM is fine it could be a problem with CPU and its memory controller???

So now I have a dead rig and don't know what to RMA, what do you guys suggest? should I RMA the whole lot or just the mobo and CPU so you can test it proper, cheers.

Edit: just connected a speaker to check for error beeps, with memory installed there are no beeps and still no post, with no memory I get one long beep and two short beeps. On the Asus website this is said to be a memory error, in my case probably because there is none installed. If there are no beeps with components installed and no post then they suggest to contact the retailer.

    Re: Need help with RMA-URGENT-

Put an RMA in for the CPU and mobo, don't know if one or both are faulty so best to RMA both.
