    Failing samsung harddrive

    Hello,
    The 500gb samsung sata hard drive is starting to get bad sectors. only got 7 bad sectors atm according to smart status and it still works. at what point can i send the drive back to get an rma?

    Technically if it's within the (24 months?) warranty period then I believe bad sectors are included no matter the number. Scan will probably send it back to Samsung/Seagate though I suspect.

    It will probably be quicker for you just to return it directly to Seagate, though you don't have to. You can get an RMA from their website.

    I phoned scan and due to the time ive had it im going to have to rma it with seagate. the issue is that the seagate website seems to be one of the worst websites i have ever used.

    In the past seemed quite easy to RMA, sign off your details and the seatools codes and it seemed pretty simple from what I can remember.
