Basically I ordered two Kingston Hyperx 3K 120GB SSD's on the email deal recently.
No matter what I try they are just not compatible with my system:
Asus P5Q Deluxe
4 GB DDR2 Ram
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Intel X25-M 80GB SSD
Adaptec 5405 running 4 HDD in Raid 5
Xonar Essence STX
This system has been rock solid, no BSODS no intermittent problems until I introduced these Kingston drives to it.
The Kingston will just not play well with my system. Intermittent BSODS and drive dropouts from the OS.
I have tried every setting related to Sandforce 2281 BSOD problems, as well as trying the drives on different ports on the motherboard and different rails on my PSU. Different power managment settings, msahci drivers and intel RST drivers.
Tried it on my Work machine Lenovo ThinkCentre A71 which had no issues. Windows 7 Pro and stock hardware that comes with the A71. All well but not what I bought these SSD's for.
I have spent two long nights on troubleshooting and forum searching. Way too long for getting something presumably simple to function correctly.
I just now want to cut my losses, and exchange these drives for something not running on the Sandforce 2281 controllers. I am looking at the equivalent Samsung 830 drives. Checking and restocking fee fine, I just dont want to deal with these SSD's anymore.
Would love to get the ball rolling on a return ASAP and solve this problem.
