Thread: Corsair 8gb RAM issues

    Corsair 8gb RAM issues

    I purchased a CMZ8GX3M2A 2x4gb 1866C9R Red kit from Scan on the 25th July 2011, recently my PC has been crashing randomly so I ran memtest for an hour where it reported 20 faults found.

    Are there any other tests I can run to check on the RAM or do I need to RMA this?

    If you have run memtest86+ on the ram then theres nothing much really to run to test it as it's already been found to be faulty.

    If you do contact the returns team, if you let them know that you've already ran the memory tests it should help get this rectified

    I called and was told that I should have an email within 5 minutes giving the RMA number and instructions, email came in less than 3 minutes, printed the RMA label, re-packaged the RAM in its original box, then packed that into a padded envelope which I then packed in another padded envelope (re-using envelopes I've received items in) and took that to the post office where it has been despatched and should arrive by 1pm tomorrow.

    The process has been really easy, it is nice to do business with Scan knowing that issues get dealt with quickly.

    Update on my RMA.

    I got an email on Wednesday with status update to show that they had started testing my RAM, this was followed by a status update on Thursday to say that the process had been completed and a replacement would be despatched that day.

    It was really easy to find the invoice number for the replacement RAM on my account on the Scan website and from there just as easy to see the tracking number and a link to the DPD website where I found it was scheduled to arrive between 15:01 and 16:01, it actually arrived at around 15:30, so that was bang on the money.

    The whole process from start to finish was painless and very easy, the staff that dealt with my calls have been friendly and very professional. Thanks.

    Please update the title to show that my issue has been resolved, I'm not sure if I can do that myself.
