Question about warranty restrictions

Hello

I've received an e-mail stating my system has passed soak testing and 3D Mark.

However the e-mail does say I should not upgrade the BIOS or any firmwares without talking to Technical Support at Scan so that records can be kept up to date and that doing so without agreement would invalidate the warranty.

I can understand that.

However would a reformat and reinstall of the OS invalidate the warranty in the same way?
