    RMA Rejected oddly

I rma'd my asus rampage 4 extreme and i7 3960x after giving the employee on the phone my order numbers. Even though the motherboard was a bit over a month old /(last week) he still told me to rma the 2 parts. My processor and ram etc. arrived only 8 days ago for my finished build and he was aware of this and still told me to go ahead with the rma.
could you clarify why my rma was oddly rejected?

    RMA: 274213

    Re: RMA Rejected oddly

    extrememachine,

I can confirm that the motherboard was rejected due to it being received in a physically damaged condition, the engineers report is as follows:

"Crushed pins, if these aren't making contact on the underside of the CPU it explains the issues with the Memory controller."

We can provide photos showing the damage to the CPU socket on request.

    Kind regards,

    Re: RMA Rejected oddly

    extrememachine,

I can confirm that your order did contain Scansure, but the RMA for the motherboard was requested after the insurance had expired.

Asus might be able to repair the motherboard for you so we can send this for repair if you like, the cost for this is £25 + VAT.

The CPU is being tested separately and the RMA should be updated soon.

    Kind regards.
