Hi
I recently saw a deal on Hotdeals for a OCZ Vertex Plus at Scan.Co.UK and thought it was a bargain for a 120GB SSD Drive
Boy was i wrong! 2 Drives and 2 RMAS!
I recieved the SSD and it didnt work, I emailed scan and the ssd was collected the same day which was cool, it went through the RMA Proccess and i was sent a replacement, I was actually happy that they had arranged to collect the same day although communications along the proccess was pretty poor,
A week later (after i had sent back) I recieved SSD 2, it was obviously from a different Batch as the packaging was different, the SSD i recieved was working fine, it allowed me to install the OS onto it on My Asus G74 Laptop, all was great untill the following morning, i turned the laptop on and again the SSD was not detected
I also tested in both my partners Laptop and My Gaming Desktop, the drive was not detected by the bios on either of these also
So i have wasted hours, waited in a few times, i emailed scan, expecting a promt reply, next day... still no reply what a joke, i had waited 36 hours so decided to ring on the premium 0871 number at my exspence, was told that ussually emails are replied to within 48 hours, what a great reply and the guy i spoke to put the RMa Though the system for me to rma the drive and collect following day (via email proccess)
The second faulty drive was recieved by Scan on friday last week (i checked tracking) and recieved an email today to say that it had been recieved and was in the que to be tested, So 2 weeks later... no working drive and they take their time testing, im not sure how long it takes an engineer to put a drive into a desktop and latptop and check it is detected in bios.
Just wanted to have a rant about the RMA Proccess and the quality of these OCZ Vertex drives
Would be nice if they replaced with a drive that would not have these issues, or that had been flashed with the newer firmware but im guessing, ill probs recieve a new drive next week and probs have to go through the same issues again. I dont want a refund just a drive that will actually work!
After reading up on google it seems a common issue with these OCZ Vertex plus drives
