Return of Phanteks PH-TC90LS LP Cooler

    Lee

I am not happy you have decide to reject my RMA 290152 I took out "scan sure" and I was in the distance selling regulations period.

I believe under the distance selling regulations you are allowed to "try out things", so yes I did try to attact the fan to the top of the heat sink, very difficult. Did not like the design, Difficult to accessemble Painted reduces cooling, No Cooper core, back plate could short mother board. Most importantly no more low profile than the stock intel cooler!!!

I am also very upset you say I applied the paste, cleary the tube of paste is unused, check it against another fan.

This was and upsold product from scan (bought it because I was building a media server), I am rather unhappy you choice to reject my RMA, particular because I am customer who has spent several thousand pounds of equipement from you, and I think this is my second return of a 20 quid item.

I think its reasonable grounds for return.

Please close this thread, I have had Scan decision explained to be, I am very disapointed by it, have no interest in debating it in a scans forums, clearly I will have to way up this risk with other factors (such as pros like supply uncommonly listed items) in the future when making build decisions.

    oolon,
Having checked the details concerning your rejection, I am inclined to agree with the engineer’s decision in this instance.

The heat sink was returned in a used condition, with scratches on the heat sink base and damage/ paint chips to the fins, the back plate is scuffed and the heat sink compound has also been used.

In our opinion you have not taken reasonable care of the item whilst it has been in your possession, as such a refund has been declined.

I have attached photos of heat sink to this thread.

As a gesture of goodwill I have requested that the item will be returned to you free of charge.

    Kind regards,

Well I didn't screw on the bottom plate I did not open the tube (those were returned as supplied) completely unused (and I know I am telling the truth), I am frankly very hurt you think otherwise. Your picture of the tube does not show how much remains in it. Clearly I did not take photos of it before the return It, I did not release Scan would do everything they could to avoid accepting any return. I asked for this thread to be closed as I did not want to debate this, however you have choicen insted to try to publically humilate me and show me a lier. I do not know how it was handled within scan either. What I do know is I have spent £3000+ personally with scan in the last 2 years, I have returned £40 quid of item one of which was DOA and this one. I am just glad I have found out the risk trading with scan over stuch a low value item (£20), than perhaps an £800 pound processor.

For avoidance or doubt the ONLY thing I did was to try to attact the fan to the heat sink, which frankly impossible without scratching the paint work. I would point out I did take out scan sure, I stupidly thought this and my normal rights would cover me against all problems, I feel I have been caught in a catch 22. Thank you saying you will return it to me for free, perhaps if someone else on HeXus want it they can send me a PM and as they are welcome to it. Clearly I will be more careful with my shopping in future.

Oh yes, if you check my web history you will not see all my orders as a number were done over the phone.

Closely looking at that metal bottom plate in the picture you claim is "used", the paint still looks "intact" in side the screw threads.

What exactly is the "problem" you have with this,

Its also rather funny you claim I use the thermal compound as i generally never use it even for things I like! Why would I use the default grey coloured themal grease supplied with a heat sink rather than perhaps something I trusted?

Re: Return of Phanteks PH-TC90LS LP Cooler

    oolon,

The item was returned in a used condition, it is not in the same condition as sold.

I accept that the heat sink paste may have been that way when you received the product, but the damaged heat sink fins and chipped enamel most certainly were not.

I have already advised as to why the item was rejected in my origonal post.

    Kind regards,
