RMA been waiting a long time

    Hello

Special Delivery confirmed my MOBO was signed for at SCAN on the 21st Decemeber.

I understand the returns department was closed over the festive period but its getting to the point now where I am desperate for a replacement mobo and I have no idea when I am going to receive it.....a day, a week a month???.

Please can someone give me a clear indication of when my RMA is going to be dealt with, every time I call I am told to wait but I need to start thinking about a contingency plan for up coming jobs I have in place.

I didnt expect the return to take this long.

    RMA is 253698

    I appreciate a reponse.

    Thanks

    Tozey

    Thank you Mick

I have called in this afternoon and someone is finally looking for it for me (funnily enough since I put this on twitter). I had to provide the special delivery tracking number.

    tozey,

Having personally looked into this query for you, it looks like you had quoted the wrong RMA number so we were chasing a motherboard that had already been booked in and processed.

We have received the replacement item from Gigabyte today, we will test the motherboard to make sure it is in working order and it will then be dispatched to you.

    Kind regards,

Re: RMA been waiting a long time

    Mick

    Thank for this.

It turns out that yes I was chasing the wrong RMA. I raised the original RMA in September but at the time I wasn't able to send the MOBO back due to work commitments. However, I raised it again in December so the RMA was reopened and I was issued with a new number.

After I posted the mobo to you, Microsoft blocked my Hotmail account due to suspect access behavior not on my part and as a result I have lost that email account as I couldn't answer the stupid questions they ask. This is where the RMA details were held.

So I contacted scan to explain that I need to update my email address with you and can you resend the RMA details. it was at this point I was sent the RMA from September not December and this is what I have been using in all my comms.

Had I been sent the new RMA number none of this would have been an issue.

Never mind, at least we have got to the bottom of it and I appreciate everyones help with the exception of a few on the telephone who sounded like they were either too busy or couldn't be bothered to help after christmas.

Again thanks for your help and I look forward to receiving my MOBO

    Cheers

    Tozey

Re: RMA been waiting a long time

    Hi Mick

Mobo was received today, thank you.

I notice it is exactly the same mobo and hasn't been replaced. I was under the impression when I raised the RMA and from a part of the Intel P67 chipset recall that it would be replaced no questions asked.

Do I assume that it has been fixed? if so, are you able to provide detail from gigabyte saying what has been done? I have searched google regarding this but all I can find is details regarding boards being replaced.

Just want to be clear on what action has actually been taken, thanks for your time

    tozey,

Gigabyte either repair or replace the goods depending on the fault, I will check the serial number for you tomorrow but please reply to my previous email to make sure this gets followed up.

Re: RMA been waiting a long time

    tozey,

Further to your query, I have received details concerning the repair from Gigabyte, they have advised that the Intel chip was changed on this item due to the SATA chipset issue on the old B3 boards.

So the motherboard is the same but has been repaired by Gigabyte.

    Kind regards,
