Don't know how to connect USB 2.0 front panel to motherboard

    I bought this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-...35-and-525-bay

It didn't actually say what connections it uses to connect to the motherboard. I just assumed it would use header cables to connect to the USB 2.0 headers on the motherboard. However it uses a 5-pin connector to connect to the panel and the other end is a standard USB 2.0 cable connector like what you actually plug into a USB 2.0 port. What am I supposed to do with that?

It also seems to to use a small 4-pin to a large 4-pin molex cable for the power. What am I supposed to do with that as my PC doesn't have any place that accepts that connection.

That's quite bad that they didn't include the USB cable needed. Without it, as you said I need to run it out the back of the case to use a rear port which completely defeats the purpose of adding a USB panel card.

Also I find it strange that when using the USB 2.0 headers, each header can be used with 2 ports, yet this USB 2.0 front panel card doesn't support headers and only has 1 cable for all 4 ports. It doesn't seem like it will provide enough bandwidth for all ports?

I understand the need for the power cable but what I don't understand is why they supplied it with a molex cable instead of a standard Sata power cable like what you plug into a hard drive. I've built a PC recently and my power supply doesn't have any inputs for the molex cable, it just has inputs for sata power cables.

If you can PM me your invoice number I can send out a power adapter for you at no cost such as the LN 27721 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-...power-cable%29.

That's quite neat. I could get rid of so much clutter inside my case by removing the molex cable from my PSU as I only need one molex connector and that has three molex plugs on it.
