    Supplier repair question...

After being ignored by scan query for about 4 days, I've decided to come here and ask.

I sent my card in to scan last Tuesday (13th)because it was faulty, they found a fault with it and because they don't sell it anymore they have decided to return it to ASUS for repair.

My question is: how long will it take for this to complete and get back to me? I kinda need it because I'm going to be playing in some online tornaments soon.

    Regards,
    Mat

Ps. Sending queries to Scan is absolute garbage. They lost a valuable customer for ignoring my questions, very disappointed.

    Re: Supplier repair question...

    Matin,

Please accept our apologies for the delay in contacting you, as the card is being sent to Asus for repair I cannot provide a specific timescale at this point, however this should take no longer than a maximum of 28 days to be processed.

    Kind regards,

    Re: Supplier repair question...

    Hi,

I just received a e-mail today AFTER 26 days that my card isn't in 'sold any more' (why did I have to wait 26 days to be told that?) - scan has offered me a cheap replacement MSI card when I bought a ASUS card. Is there anything else we can do? Would it be possible to upgrade to a GTX770 and pay a small fee?

    Regards,
    Mat

    Re: Supplier repair question...

    Hi Mat,

We returned the card to our supplier for them to arrange for repair or replacement with ASUS however it seems that they have been unable to do either and have simply credited our supplier who in turn have credited us.

You originally had an EVGA 570 this failed and you upgraded to the ASUS 7970.

I wouldn't exactly say we have offered you a "cheap" 7970 we have actually offered you a superior MSI GHZ edition 7970

The card you had returned was just a basic reference design 7970 it wasn't a DCU-II version or anything so I would argue that the MSI is superior.

    Re: Supplier repair question...

You may argue that MSI is superior but I paid for a ASUS card so obviously I think they are better? I guess there isn't anything else you can do right?

If there is nothing else you can do then I really have no choice then to accept the MSI one.

    Mat

    Re: Supplier repair question...

The ASUS one is out of stock, also a lot of people are put off this card as it is a triple slot cooling solution.

ASUS being better than MSI or vice-versa is a subjective thing, it's each to their own I understand everybody has their own personal preference, but of the card s we have available I think the replacement offered is fair.

    Regards

Hold on, if they have credited you back - cannot you not give me a refund? Or credit the amount they gave you to me?

    Re: Supplier repair question...

The credit we have been given would not enable you to purchase a comparable card.

Our returns department have already been instructed to dispatch the MSI replacement.
