    Scansure and Overclocking

Hi guys, this is slightly premature as the order is still on its way, but I thought it best to ask. Does the policy still provide cover if I have overclocked the components, or otherwise adjusted BIOS settings to better suit my setup?

    Re: Scansure and Overclocking

    Hi,

SCANSURE is for accidental installation damage, so SCANSURE does not really cover overclocking in that sense as you would be overclocking on purpose. Also bear in mind that SCANSURE lasts for 28 days only so it wouldn't help you if you were to overclock your components and they failed 6 months down the line.

A better option for you may be the Intel Performance Tuning Protection Plan available depending on your particular purchase of CPU of course.

    Regards

    Re: Scansure and Overclocking

Thanks for the response, I didn't explain myself very well. I'm worried that if I overclock my components in the 28 days, then it invalidates the cover. I.e. should I leave everything at stock for 28 days.

    Re: Scansure and Overclocking

    Lucio,

In my experience it is extremely rare for components to catastrophically fail resulting in damage that would put the warranty validity in question during moderate overclocking.

Overclocking the system will not invalidate your Scansure cover, if physical damage was to occur and this was directly linked to the user overclocking the system then this may put the cover into question however.

    Kind regards,
