Hi Mark / Mick
I've currently got my 780Ti in with you under RMA 343998 - delivered to you on the 4th of Nov
Fair play to Gareth and Michael for their help so far and to Scan for providing an excellent end user service for me for many years - but this is one that's got me slightly upset. It's the first product from Scan that I've ever had an issue with.
I contacted Zotac because I'd been getting random issues with the card where it would be fine for some time, then go through a fit of playing up. Happened on more than one system.. I have an EVGA SR-2 5500 Rig and a Gigabyte X58 rig.
When physically inspecting the card - you could see easily that something was severely wrong with the soldering of the PCB and there was a production issue with the card. A swift call to Zotac and supplying them with an email containing photos - they agreed it was not right and the card should be replaced. I even had a tech manager at the Sony plant in Bridgend that do the soldering of the Raspberry PI boards confirm that it was a shocking job that shouldn't have passed any form of quality control.
However I am now left in limbo without my card because the suppliers want Zotac to prove they will accept the return first.... leaving me the customer without the card whilst the faff is resolved
The only thing that's annoyed / upset me so far is the testing procedure from Scan said that "Soldering seems normal and nothing wrong with the card" and Michael himself said he had to convince your tech RMA guys that it was worthy of return.... after looking at the below photos how can anyone agree that this is a good quality product that should have passed quality control?!?! It made me feel that I'm just trying to cause a problem when I'm not.
If this can get sorted sooner rather than later it would be appreciated - I don't want to phone in because I feel like I'm being an inconvenience for trying to get my issue sorted. I understand it's going to take time but a bit irritated because of a political issue between Scan, the suppliers and Zotac when Zotac have already said the card should not be in this state.
Cheers
Richie
