Thread: Order Speed...How long will it take?

    Order Speed...How long will it take?

    My boss, either this evening or first thing tomorrow is going to order me the EVGA Superclocked 8800GTS. 320mb (Showing in stock atm).

    He is ordering via the telephone.

    Can you give me an idea how long it will take to be dispatched as i am away from Friday until Tuesday (so really need delivery before Friday morning).

    If this is unlikely i will either:
    a) Hold off until next week
    b) Order somewhere else.

    Can you guys let me know if this is possible as i would like to install before i go away and dont really want to use another company.

    At the moment it seems orders are taking four days to arrive so Friday doesnt seem to un-reasonable...maybe pay for morning delivery?

    Sorry to hijack this thread, but I've placed an order with Scan this morning (Tues 10:30am roughly), the items are in stock but it's showing a estimated delivery date of Monday. Is that right, is it going to take 6 days?

    i went to place an order last night and it said next monday delivery also had to cancel it as its a new dvd drive for my pc and some media but cant wait a whole week for one as mine has started scratching my discs to pieces

    is a shame had to pay delivery from elsewhere to get the drive i wanted

    Aren't these dates for free delivery, you could obviously pay and get next day if the items are all in stock. I placed an order for a mobo last tuesday with a delivery date of tomorrow (hopefully) but it still hasn't been picked but then that's 1 of the conditions of free delivery so have no problems with that.

    We've explained this before several times.

    The delivery times are the same if you pay for carriage - or not.

    The only difference is timed delivery services.. pre-12, saturday, etc. - which are chargeable services.

    Nop theres no way you can get next day delivery even if you try and pay for it, your only given a four day lead time which would be Saturday, so my advice would be to call and see if they can do anything to get it to you Friday.

    I suppose I was asking if Scan really have a 4 day backlog or whether the computer systems are just being pessimistic.....

    I placed an order through yesterday, asking for delivery on the 9th but I got an estimated delivery of 12th so I rang them up and found out that the email I got was wrong- I got confirmed that delivery is still going to be the 9th. Just in case anyone else has simular issues

    I ordered some Corsair Dominator memory that was in stock on Monday morning, said estimated delivery date was Friday which is pants... Order didn't appear on the system until the end of the day, got an email to say my card have been authorised and delivery would be the following Monday...

    Cancelled the order and went back to another supplier who managed to replenish stock and has taken payment and despatched the item all in less time than Scan can respond to my request to cancel the order....

    Very poor if you ask me, which is such a shame because otherwise they've been quite reasonable and the returns team have been very good speedwise in responding to my rma request... That said, the item was only picked up today, so I don't know how long they'll take to process it and wether the replacement will take 4 days to pick and despatch...

    Hi Chris,

    thanks for taking the time to reply. I was pointed in the direction of that post on a different thread where I was questioning why delivery took 4 days. The point I made then was that the announcement focuses on your efforts to improve reserving stock for orders where there are items currently unavailable. From reading it, I didn't take it to mean that an order for a single in stock item would be impeded in any way. Obviously this isn't the case and I am aware of that now.

    That said, I'm not trying to have a dig, in fairness I've been pleased with the way my order has been handled. It didn't go perfectly, but you handled it professionaly and I'm grateful for that. For me, I guess with you guys making such drastic changes, the timing of my decision to buy a new gaming rig could have been better! I will order from Scan in the future, but I'll try and hold out from any purchases until you've completed your revamp!
