    I just got a cancellation email, saying "As a gesture of goodwill in light of the problems you had, we'd like to offer you a free standard UK carriage if you are able to come back to us again"

    Yes, we also do this for customers who may have had to cancel orders due to a delay - so they are compensated for their inconvenience next time.
