Question Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3P (Rev 3.3) Availablity Confusion.

    Hi,

I placed an order on the 28th of Feb for a Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3P (Rev 3.3) and the estimated delivery date was set to today. However, this morning I received a txt from scan explaining that stock was delayed.

What confuses me, though, is that the product still says In Stock on the website. Also the price has been reduced by £0.91 which doesn't make a whole lot of difference but I'm just wondering why it was 'in stock' on the 28th of Feb priced at £76.80 (ex VAT) and then the price was set at 'Call for price' and now it has been reduced, all the while still saying in stock when in fact it apparently isn't.

I've been told the 'estimated lead date = 15/03/2007' and I'm not sure as to what this means, is this a delivery date or when you will have it in stock?

Please could someone clear up my confusion.

    Many thanks,

    Graeme.

I too am in the same boat, placed an order on the 1st with an estimated delivery date of the 7th, wasn't till the morning of the 7th that I got an email and text to say delivery will be delayed till the 14th. I checked stock and it showed as being in stock all the way to the 8th, was only after that date that it changed to call for prices. CS also later told me that there were 2 in stock but they were both faulty and were going to be returned to Gigabyte which what caused all the confusion.

I created this thread the night before http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=101585 as I noticed it hadn't yet been picked, didn't mention any specifics in the thread but it gives the story I know.

I know it's only a mobo and not the end of the world but I'd re-arranged my work schedule so that I could be at home on that day to greet City Link.

I contacted CS and they said

Chris, that's the DS4, the DS3P is LN17758, you can send me a rev3.3 of the DS4 if you like instead of the DS3P

I've just noticed that my card for this order was charged on the 1st when I placed the order, is this normal for Scan then?

Reason I ask is that most other places wouldn't have take the funds till the item was picked or due to be shipped and seems damned unusual.

Agree with that in that if payment is taken then stock would normally have been allocated to you. I placed an order with 7day recently and a few items weren't in stock but 7day only charged me for what was in stock and allocated to my order, as items came into stock and allocated they were charged.

Anyway I've had enough of all of this in stock/not in stock rubbish and have cancelled my order and have just placed it elsewhere. To confuse things even further the DS3P is now showing as back in stock so go figure.

How do these stock levels work?

As well as this mobo I've also a HDD that was in stock when I ordered, in stock according to the website yet delayed for a week according to my email.

    I'm confused

From what I understand when you place an order the monies are taken straight away, the order is then processed some days later and it is stock levels at that time that really dictate if your order can be filled or not so although the item could well have been in stock when you placed the order if it got picked for another order(s) and is out of stock when it's your turn then your order will get delayed.
