Just so that scan are clear on this
I asked about the retail version - not OEM.
It is Inevitable.....
any update on this? I would also like to know
any udpate - is there not a box already opened that you can potentially check (I appriciate your not going to open a new box)

Hopefully this will help:

One more thing, If I brought vista ultimate oem (32bit version), can it be "upgraded" to teh 64 bit version for a reduced price, rather than having to pay another £100+4 the 64 bit version?
Did you know the cd key for 32 bit works for 64 bit. All you need is the installation media. Download an .iso (can't be illegal if you've got the key, surely?) or borrow it off a friend. You can only have one version activated at a time though, 32 bit OR 64 bit, not both.
Guys, can we stop the Vista trouble shooting/key discussion on this thread,
I just want to know scans offical response to the wording on their website. I know what they should be shipping due to microsofts wording, I know what should work, but I want scan to confirm it before I make a purchase so there is no confusion.

I have had no response from MS so I have just checked the all Retail version myself:
The Retail Ultimate LN17179 and upgrade LN17180 come with 32bit and 64Bit DVD's inside the box.
All other versions full and upgrade versions of Vista only include 32Bit DVD's and information included to obtain 64Bit DVD's
The web site will updated shortly
Best Regards
Thank you, your efforts where appriciated.
