    E6850 ETA / Pricing ?

    Hey guys,

I need a new CPU to replace my ageing x2 4800 + and better compliment my new xfx 8800 ultra xxx.

Was about to buy a E6700 today - but have just seen that **uk have got the E6850 as coming in 23/07/07 @ £199.99 - so maybe better to wait and enjoy the extra mhz and fsb for the same price i'd be buying a E6700 if I bought it today.

An word on when scan may be getitng the E6850 and pricing ???

    Cheers

    Sorry,

we don't have the E6850 on our systems as of yet as it's not released (well not that I know of)

As soon as it's available, it should then be active on the website.

    Best Regards,

I took advantage of that earlier on. Great price and better than an E6600!

I knew I should have waited,

I purchased my E6850 last monday and got it on tuesday 17th - only thing is I paid £199 @ novatech.

Scan now have it for £169 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was the 6 or 7 days i got this early worth £30 ?.......................... I don't think so either.

Nevermind, but that will teach me the virtues of patience in the very best way - a hit to the wallet

Yeah that board seemed to get a good all round review, along with the Abit p35 board.
I'm never to keen on look of gigabyte boards though.

I got an 680I Asus striker extreme, more expensive and slower than the P35 boards, but i've been a total retard lately and have made some horrendously bad decisions.
The reason at the time was the 1t memory option and the unlinked FSB / memory - so I could run 1333fsb with the 800mhz ram I already had.

However the Striker is a pig to set up and hot, hot, hot

£169 for a 3Ghz core 2. It really is amazing how much the price of these chips has come down recently.

I have my 6600 running at 3Ghz but it would be nice to have this speed without any OC.
