    Conroe pricing ETA

    Hey,

    Just wondered whats price to expect for the upcoming Conroe processors, a competitor has just posted their pricing and are taking orders although I'd much prefer to deal with Scan.
    Also, any idea what motherboards scan will be getting in? Any chance of seeing the DFI Infinity?

    thanks

    this has been covered by scan before, something to do with high RMA rates, dfi are not up to good enough quality i think.

    Going by the benchmarks, conroe will now be the enthusiasts choice. The competitor are fairly over priced with abysmal service, I reckon they're just taking advantage of the pre-release fever. Hopefully Scan will stock the E6600 at sub £220 and have a reasonable selection of boards and ram. BTW, why only stock Corsair?

    Corsair = Reliability

    (personally I wouldn't touch any other memory.... far too many problems with others )

    o, so DFI dont reach scans standards.. intresting. i was under the impression they where the top Enthusiast board out

    yer overclockers has the conroe's on pre-order, but i dont think i'll order from them in to much of a hurry.

    It has nothing to do with DFIs motherboard standards its their stock and shipping methods (I believe). IMO Scan need to do what OCUK do all the time and just list products before they are released as everyone loves preordering . That's the one thing that really annoys me about Scan in that on the day of release they will finally list the product making it into some sort of refreshing game . I hope this doesn't seem like a rant more of a friendly poke in the eye . BTW I love the new site features!

    Even if you can't place a pre-order, would be nice to see what the price is going to be - if it's sub £220 for a E6600 as I hope, I'll hang on until you stock them and order the whole rig from you.
