Most of the DVD writers on the IDE interface will have similar specifications however I personally would recomend any of the following:

have you had first hand experience, which one out of the 2 you reoomend in terms of quiet and write performance.

I have both writers in different machines at home

Both are very similar in terms of burn quality however I would state that the Optiarc drive is slightly quieter - although the difference is very marginal

Also the Optiarc one is also on Today Only at the moment therefore it might be worth going for this model over the Pioneer

Keep the Benq, that's one of the best DVD writers made that you've got there...

The new Liteon drives are pretty good, something like a DH-20A1P

Well I've used sony, liteOn, samsung, LG and HP dvd write drives so far (don't remember model numbers)
Must say the differnces are tiny.
The main ones you do notice are noise and colour, other than that, mmeh
