Will there not be any price drops on the E6600 and E6700?

just what i like to see, more CPU's to make buying one even more tedious and time consuming...

    it was so much easier with e4300, e6300, e6400, e6600 and e6700

Well not really as the new models are faster, perform better and are cheaper.

I would have expected price cuts on the old models but as this hasnt happened it would not make sense to buy the older models.

Very good prices, anyone think its worthwhile replacing a E6600 yet? I currently have it on a P5K board and to be honest it still serves me well so I think personally it might be best waiting a while. But those prices are great!

Thanks DavidM but what are the steppings for the E6850

AFAIK all E6850 are G0, the issue is between the "older" Q6600 and the newer ones - the G0 (newer) are the energy efficient ones which should (in theory) run cooler and as such overclock better than the older ones. The E6850 is a new part, so there should be no old stock to worry about.
