Asus P5k3 Deluxe WIFI & HSF

    hello all

i,m thining of getting e6850 or q6600, what is the best silent solution (HSF) not overclocking or intersted in watercooling.

    i have seen:

    Scythe Infinity Heatpipe CPU Cooler
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B Heatpipe CPU Cooler
    Asus Silent Square
    Asus Silent Square Pro
    Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler

and they may need to fit the asus p5k3 deluxe

any suggestions and opionions would be great

    thanks

I have used a Artic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro for my E6600 and its near silent and great value. I don't overclock. It fits perfectly on my Asus P5K mobo, so I assume it would fit on the P5K3.

    I got mine from Scan.

    Hi,

The Asus Silent Square Pro will not fit on the board, I have 2 here I got to fit on to my BadAxe and BadAxe2 mobo's but they would not fit.

I also have the Asus P5K3 for my new system so checked to see if it would fit on there and doesn't becasue of the heatpipes build around the CPU socket. I have Arctic Freezer Pro 7's on my BadAxe boards and one coming with my new CPU for the P5K3 board too now.

    thanks guys

so it looks like is pointing to AC freezer, anyone else tried any of the above HSF on the board?

and would the freezer do well with e6850?

    thanks

I use the Freezer Pro 7 on a ASUS P5K-E and it fits fine and is quiet.

    Regards

Also its running on a E6420 OCed to 3.2Ghz and keeps it under check well.

    Hi,

I have just build up my P5K3 with the Freezer Pro 7 and noticed it catches on the heatpipes on the mobo so is not sitting fully on the CPU correctly. So am now looking for another alternative that fits without catching so it sits nicely on the CPU.

I have got the Asus P5K (not the P5K3) and the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme fits perfectly. I have got it running with Yate Loon D12-SL fans running at 7V and my pc runs silent and very cool.

Ahh yes come to think about it the P5K3 does have more heatpipes than my P5K on which the Freezer Pro 7 is perfect.

    Hi,

The Freezer Pro 7 does not fit correctly on the P5K3, it catches on the heatpipes on the outer edge of the motherboard.
