Tagan 480w failure, replacement from scan or manufacturor?

Basically i have a 480W tagan PSU, totally unmodified and original. Recently i was running my q6600 and an 8800gtx on it, and it just went POP. There was a burning smell coming from it and its obviously dead.

Its around a year and a half old and i purchased it from scan for around £80 at the time ?

Anyway considering this PSU has a 3 year warrenty, am i able to get a replacement from scan or do i need to return it to the manufacturor. I will be returning home from university shortly and that is convieniantly only 30 mins from Scan computers, so if i was to bring it in with a receipt would i be able to get a replacement?

I seem to remember that it's generaly within the first 12months = retailer
    After 12months = manufacturor.
