Antec P180B & P182 Mix-up

With the door issue, you have to push it quite hard to get it to go back on itself (I have the P182)

From looking at Antecs site and that comparison chart, as far as I can tell if you have all 120mm fans, the behind the m/b cable routing and the water cooling holes, all is well, It looks like theyve updated the 180's so all of them now have the same features, the only difference is the colour of the panels.

I'm not overly fussed about the colour of the case, I was more interested that it had the extra feature of the P182. However the case I got was definitely the Black colour (not the greyish tint) but has the same features as a P182. I think if it is a P180B with upgraded features then it should be listed as such. Out of curiosity, I sent a note to Antec UK to see if the P180B's were updated and recieved this back this morning :

The best way to know if you have either a P180B or P182 is the color of the case. The P180B comes with black color. The P182 comes with gun metal color. The original version of the P180B does not come with the P182 features. If so happens you purchased a P180B and received it with the P182 features then you are lucky since they should not have come with the P182 features.

Not exactly the clear-cut answer I was after, he does mention the 'original' version of the P180B, but the following sentence seems to make out that the P180B wasnt updated to match the P182.

Anyways, I have a black case with the P182 features, which is good enough for me. I would just prefer the listing to be more clear, else people might expect to get the Gun Metal version.

yeah, thats odd, the main part of the Antec siite lists the same features on the 180 as the 182, the 182 specific page says whats different bewteen the 180 and the 182 (but the 180 page now has those features listed), one last thing you might want to check are the dimensions, I think theyre supposed to be slightly different.

1.There is no packaging mistake by Antec. Calling this a P182 is a mistake by Scan.
2. Both the P180b and P182 are the same except for the colour

P182 - Gun Metal
P180B - Black

just had confirmation from Antec that both the P180B & P182 cases are the same dimensions.

Scan need to advise there customers of this...ASAP

I think Antec need to let everyone know about this. Surely Scan must have relabeled theses cases on the advice of Antec or their own supploer and from initial contact with them it seems they weren't sure themselves. I can only imagine its a recent change that hasn't fully filtered through, but its no good for anyone that wanted\expected to be getting one colour and ending up with another.

Some valid points here, I feel that scan should compensate their customers for this error, as they were the seller

I agree I have been sent out the wrong product and think Scan should offer some sort of compensation to me in light of this error.... I dont really want to stop my build of my system, take a day off work, to resolve a color issue.

Scan please comment....

same here got a p180b instead of a p182.

and the p182 did cost more when i ordered.

also does the p182 case door go round 270 degrees as the p180b does not look like it will.

Yes, all the doors on all the p18* series does, it just requires the user to read the manual.

Ok guys .. Here is the situation

Antec have upgraded the specification of the P180 cases to the P182 specification. So if you have ordered a P180/B case you will receive a P180/B case with the P182 specification.

If you have ordered a P182 cases...Antec HAVE EMAILED Scan to confirm that the P182 cases have been shipped in a P180B box. HOWEVER there has been a batch of P182 cases shipped as P180B. This means you will have received the correct specification but the incorrect colour as some of you have experienced.

We have a number of options available so for the customers' who have received the incorrect colour please PM me your invoice number and I will come straight back to you.

All further deliveries of P180B and P182 cases will be correct as advertised so this issue should not arrive again for any further orders processed.

WELL i just opened mine and it is jet black (with the watercool ports) not the gun metal grey.......... Really peed off now.

The door doesnt open 270 degrees and doesnt feel very strong.......

If I wanted the P180b i would have ordered one..........

SCAN what should I do........

The doors appear not to open like that but you have to unlock (jammed in place with a spiggot on top and bottom) the second hinge. It is a two part hinge and if you have not freed the second part it will appear not to open properly.
