I’m thinking of placing an order which will probably include a dozen or more different items.
Posts on this Forum gives me cause for concern as to the likelihood of items shown as being in stock actually being in stock and the problems that can follow.
Apart from payment apparently being taken immediately whether they are in stock or not can someone please confirm what the options are if Scan subsequently realise after an order is placed that one or more items are not in stock.
- Can/will the order be despatched on the basis of what’s available with the balance to follow - additional postage costs?
- Can/will the order be despatched on the basis of what’s available and the outstanding items be cancelled
- Do you have the option of selecting alternatives for out of stock items before despatch
- Can the whole order be cancelled and a full refund made
I’m not sure if Scan is significantly worse than most other retailers but inevitably with a Forum of this nature, which they support, you tend to only hear about the problems associated with this sort of issue and get limited feedback of the success stories.
