    Asus P5K Deluxe/WiFi Problems....

Having owned my ASUS board now for just 4months i have been mightily impressed with it, as it's done everything i've asked of it.

However within the last week it has stopped allowing me to manually setup the BIOS whenever i go and change something in the BIOS like the time then save and restart nothing happens the system is just sat there wurring away with nothing on the screen. The only way i can then make the computer work again is by resetting the RTC and loading the setup defaults. Changing any settings will stop it working.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    So far i have tried:-

Upgrading the BIOS to the latest release
    Downgrading to the original release
leaving the battery out over night
only attaching necessary components with it on an antistatic mat and not in the case

    Help

    Cheers

    Martin

If it has one of the dual bioses, possibly try recovering it that way see if it helps?

Are you altering ram/cpu settings after clearing? possibly it doesnt like some of the settings and wont restart or else ram/cpu is failing.

When u clear the bios will it let u boot ok? try memtesting at stock, see if u get errors. If not then boot up and run some cpu stress tests before altering their settings in small amounts and retesting each time, if it lets u.

What memory are you using with the board, if its High Performace 1066Mhz then make sure you set the BIOS appropriately.

Set the voltage settings to the correct as specified by the manufacturer and also form the timmings manually.

I get POST issues with my 1066Mhz memory if I don't force the voltage to 2.2v

Also as rabbid says, what settings are you changing?

    Re: Asus P5K Deluxe/WiFi Problems....

Whether is alter the settings for cpu or ram or not i still get the same problem. Simply changing the date or time or the boot order or something like that will cause the isuue. The ram is crucial pc6400. I dont think there is anything wrong with the RAM or CPU because if i load the setup defaults it works just fine no problems and is very quick, windows doesnt crash or anything. It just seems that if i want to change someting in the bios to custimise it like switching something on or off that there is a problem another example is if i turn RAID on i also get the same problem. It all results in my resetting the bios and loading the setup defaults.
