I recently purchased a new PC from scan, it arrived just in time for the well deserved week off i had planned, on completion of the build i find myself confronted with the following error:

Accompanied by a faint scratching/clicking noise when the drives are accessed, naturally my 1st instinct was to contact scan and ask for a replacement, which they informed me was only possible once the faulty unit was returned and tested. I inquired how long this process normally takes and, you guessed it '7 days'.

Anyway that aside, my question is, as one of these hard drives is faulty, chances are so is the other one, so should i return both, and attempt to avoid any further disruption a couple of weeks down the line?

Or would a return trip in the DHL van likely 'finish them both off' so to speak.

You can also try these sites for FAQ and use the Disk Tools, see if they show up anything before spending out on returning items.
