    Order information?

    Hello,

    When (if ever) does Scan tell you if an order that's supposed to be delivered the next day has been delayed? I ordered over the weekend and was given a delivery date of tomorrow (Tuesday 4th December) but the order is still at "stage 2". Presumably this means it won't come tomorrow now? I'm not too impressed that I haven't heard anything either way, and if they're generally busy at the moment they shouldn't have offered next day delivery in the first place. Any ideas anyone?

    (edit: OK I've just realised they say they pack orders up until 8pm so this is possibly a little bit premature, would still be good to know if it's likely to arrive tomorrow or not)

    It may still arrive anyway. This has happened to me a few times. They are busy this time of the year.

    Just had a "delayed order notification" email. It doesn't say anything useful about when I can expect the order though, since they're still offering a "next day estimate" on new orders I would really expect it on Wednesday at the latest unless I get an email with a proper explanation.

    Delayed Order Notification means you probably won't get it tomorrow mate.

    Yeah I got the same delayed order... I really wish it would state either that it has been delayed due to stock discrepancies or that they were unable to complete the order due to the amount of orders placed over the weekend.

    It is a general email to make things easier for them but really you would expect people working with computers like scan to be able to have slightly more accurate and informative automated emails.

    Am I the only one who thinks it shouldn't be so hard to get a system that has been running for years upgraded to provide better service?

    I just went through all my order items and they seem to all be in stock still so this leads me to believe that the email is just to notify you of later than expected delivery. I would agree with you PinkPig in assuming that the order will be completed by wednesday.

    It is rather nice of them to notify you of a late delivery but I still feel more information is needed to make the customer understand what is happening and have a better idea of when to expect the delayed delivery.

    OK, since I've also had my order delayed it seems like you weren't able to ship any orders from over the weekend on Monday, so you're at least a day behind. No problem, it's not the end of the world - except that your system still offers people an "estimated" next-day delivery even though you seem quite aware that it wasn't remotely possible! If your website offers an "estimate" for delivery it should surely be an up-to-date estimate based on current volumes rather than just a "we can normally deliver next day, but haven't been able to for the last 2 weeks" estimate?

    I just order a AMD CPU, estimated: 7th Friday. I will probably get a delay notification tomorrow evening. Christmas coming so I can understand that. It would be nice to get CPU before weekend, but I'm not giving big hopes for it. A bit of advice - maybe when Scan have a big backlog , you can inform about it when customer placed order and choose delivery date. I don't know how others, but if it comes to hardware parts I'm just like a boy who want to grab his toys as soon as possible.
    May I ask what are me chances for Friday delivery? (It is just a tiny CPU, small package )

    Ordered a GA-MA69G-S3H mobo (atx size one, not the matx s2h) on monday evening for delivery today and it's still not even been picked it's still listed as in stock, so is it just the christmas rush slowing things down?

    edit: just got this:

    Please regard this email as a notification of delay in your order due to unexpected volumesin our warehouse. Please rest assured your custom is greatly valued and we will process your order with the utmost urgency. Your order has still been booked for a next working day delivery from the point of despatch and we will send further emails to confirm this.

    oh well... maybe friday?
