    item description wrong

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Just a couple of things not quite right with the description of the above item.

Different colors of LED indicates the power mode - green LED shines indicating bus-power mode, red LED shines indicating self-power mode
There is no red LED. The green one shines whether its bus or ps powered.
Green LED per port, featuring yellow High Speed LED which shines when hub is operating under USB 2.0 high speed mode
    There's no per port LEDs.
Something that isn't mentioned on the page, but I didn't like about it, the PS cable and the data cable are both very short. Both are 80 cm long. In the case of the power supply cable, that's barely long enough to reach from a desktop to the floor.

Even if the item only cost a penny it should still live up to its description.

if it's not upto spec and you feel strongly about it then send it back for a refund if it doesn't match the description. It's probably hard for Scan to give a good description as items like this probably change their spec a lot as it's a generic brand.

    Re: item description wrong

How much it was doesn't enter into it. The description is wrong and that's that.
My buying decision wasn't based on the number, colour and functions of the LEDs so that doesn't bother me too much, but it might be an issue for some.
The rather short cables are a disappointment and not an issue for me, but might be for others Perhaps that could be added into the description.
Slypie, you say it's a generic brand, but the webpage brands it as Scan, even if the product itself doesn't have the name on it.
