    HDMI Monitor Question

    Evenin all.
I am in the market for a new monitor and have come across this:
    21.6" Hanns G HG216DP, Silver/Black, Widescreen, 5ms, VGA & HDMI, !

Now...i already have a 19" WS Hanns_G model and its fantastic..i just thought i would treat myself.

Heres the question. There is no DVI on it...only an HDMI connection......?
Does this mean, to hook it up to my card (DVI) that i need a DVI to HDMI cable?

If so, is this better, worse or indifferent to DVI.

    Thanks fellas

    Re: HDMI Monitor Question

You will indeed need a DVI TO HDMI cable.

There should be absolutely no difference in picture quality, the only difference between the two being that HDMI carries audio as well as video.

    Re: HDMI Monitor Question

Blitzen, as the others have said, with DVI and HDMI both being digital the picture quality should be identical, so not sure its worth the upgrade in my opinion. I had the same issues when I bought my Dell 24" last year, I thought should I wait for a HDMI version but didnt. I think if you are buying a new monitor in the future its worth getting HDMI but its not a valid reason on its own when there are DVI <> HDMI conversion cables around.
