I am connecting this board to a Samsung TV HDMI input, the display is fine except there is a black border down both sides about 3-4mm wide (1366-1280/2 = 43 pixels?), and a small border top and bottom. I do not get this poblem when running an upscaling DVD player (Panasonic) through the HDMI socket when configured for 720p. I am configuring the Fatal1ty F-I90HD over HDMI for 1280x720p. The TV resolution is 1366x768. I have tried other settings on the mobo and the TV but cannot get rid of this border. Why cant the TV upscale the mobo HDMI output to fill the screen like the Panasonic? Has anybody actually tested this configuration? The mobo works fine over VGA (although there is a 3 pixel narrowing 1366-1360!) but the HDMI output is much clearer and I do wish to use it.
I have now tried the Microsoft drivers, the Catalyst drivers versions 7.3 and 7.5. Please note that I am using Vista Ultimate.
I've also tried running 2 displays through the display adapter. In this scenario the smaller display appears to be limited in resolution to 800x600 when the secondary screen (set as clone or extended) is set to 1280x720. I was hoping to use at least 1024x768 or even 1280x1024. This particular problem was fixed in desktop extended mode in Catalyst version 7.6. Do these problems exist under XP?
Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
