    Unhappy Viewsonic 22" - QQ22wb - Not happy :(

    Alright fellas.

I bought this on Tuesday and received it this morning.

Everything looked fine when i hooked it up but after further inspection it has a stuck red pixel slap-bang in the middle of the screen (Also a blue one on the far right but thats not too much of a problem).
The light bleed at the top and bottom isnt too great either.
(i have tried ALL the stuck pixel remedies to no avail btw).

Is there anything that can be done?

I obviously want this model but i didnt plan on spending the best part of £170 for it to have a defect....especially right in the center.

I know there are ISO standards to cover this but having the flaw in the middle is a real git.

I just thought it would be easier to ask first to see if you can do anything, but obviously, i dont want this monitor and it needs to be returned, either via a good-willswap out (always worth asking first) or via the DSR.

    Many thanks

NOTE: Theres more and now i'm really confused.
I have just spoken to your returns department and i was told that 'if im not satisfied' i can return it under the DSR.
The thing is, i cant tell if it defective or not as there is one little blue pixel to the right and a 'larger' red one in the middle. THe middle is definitely more than one but i'm just sure how many.

I was also told that if i return this monitor under the DSR that i have to have a refund.
I don't want a refund I wasnt to buy a good monitor so why can i just not return it under DSR, pay your shipping costs, then add cash to it and get another one.

    This is just too confusing.

I only want to buy a monitor

    Cant we sort this out?

what I would do if the pixel is causing a problem is to return it and order a new one at the same time and just get a refund for the returned monitor. I would ring Scan first to see if this is ok to cover your back. There are policies about dead pixels that vary depending on the manufacture on the number of dead pixels and also the positioning of dead pixels. I would of thought if yours is bang in the middle then it would probably be covered (again check with Scan).

ditto on that, give Scan a ring and reason about this issue.. I'm sure the chaps there will try to get this sorted for you..

Alternatively you can always PM the mods here.. or wesley in particular..

    Update:
I have just contacted Viewsonic and the news is very good.
As the monitor is only 2 days old, they are going to cross-ship me a brand new one.

    Fantastic service and very unexpected.

    Note:
Please can someone at Scan cancel my RMA/DSR request.

I will sort it through Viewsonic.

Must admit Viewsonic have always been very good on my rma/warranty calls but the model I got (VP201b) came with onsite warranty, so I've just had a swap every time.
They've even replaced it with the revised vp2030b model (there was a design flaw with the vp201 that casued it to overheat, not that they'll admit it but it was rare for one to last over a year.)

Took them 2 months to get a 19" monitor in stock at the Europe one when this happened to my Dad's
YouTube - Viewsonic 19" LCD Monitor
They ended up sending the wrong one aswell. My dad doesn't want a widescreen yet they sent him one of those ones with an iPod dock which takes up room as he doesn't have one.

    Has this been done?
Although i like using Scan...im extremely disappointed that you werent as forthcoming with a solution as the manufacturer though and it has put me off somewhat.

Seems weird you would rather give me a refund under DSR than exchange it.
Anyway, at least Viewsonic have given themselves a good light in this.

    Thanks
