    Re: Scan and DFI

people have been waiting so long for these DFI boards and now they're arriving all at once, sadly no sign of the X38's in any flavour, I don't think a single DFI X38 board has hit these shores since Clunk did his review.

The DFI X38's are not dead, they just released the "X38 Dark" a few weeks ago ... the appeal for me is it's 50 quid cheaper than an X48 board, shame you won't be stocking them.

Probally because they have a fair size quantity of X38 chips, one way of getting rid of them - bring out another board.

X38 is end of the line, no more being produced.

Agreed most suppliers seem to have wounnd down stocks. However all those months ago when X48 was announced, it was touted as an enthusiasts chipset. That is basically better quality silicon, giving better performance, giving the consumer the option of a mid ramge or top end option.

Enthusiast doesn't always mean better silicon though, there is a range of other ways they can make it fit the enthusiast market without major increases in quality there.

Unless of course, you've read something about the X48 that I ain't? ....in which case, links please, I need to catch up

If the X38 chip is end of line, then I expect the DFi LANPARTY DK X38-T2R will be the shortest lived mobo ever produced. E.O.L within a few weeks of release!

maybe in Asia but certainly not in Europe, the DFi LANPARTY DK X38-T2R has only just started appearing on German retailer web sites, like within the last week or so.
