    DFI X48 question

Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between the UT-T2R and the LT-T2R, far as I can tell it's just the thermalright cooler thing?

Cool cheers, I just couldn't find anything that actually stated that.

    Re: DFI X48 question

Is it the LT that comes with the Thermalright Cooler, and the UT that comes with a TransPiper 2.0 cooling?

I have seen people on the Xtreme Systems forum who have received the Thermalright Cooler with the LT. Will this be the same in the UK?

    Re: DFI X48 question

The LT has the "heat minataur" cooler on the NB, which is made by thermalright.

The UT has the new all in one thing that does indeed look like the transpiper, only as far as I know, it doesn't detatch like the transpiper did.

    Re: DFI X48 question

I'm looking at the LT as the basis for my upgrade (DDR3 is to expensive right now). There don't seem to be many reviews about it either, would love to see how the Q9450 overclocks in this and if its worth getting over the Q6600.

    Re: DFI X48 question

This is probably a daft question, but i was looking at the DFI X48 board and noticed it only seems to support DDR2 800, is that correct?

    Re: DFI X48 question

There are 4x DFI X48 flavours..........

    1. DFI LanParty UT X48-T3R - DDR3
    2. DFI LanParty UT X48-T2R - DDR2
    3. DFI LanParty LT X48-T2R - DDR2
    4. DFI LanParty DK X48-T2R - DDR2

So not really a daft question, just which board are you referring too

    Re: DFI X48 question

I asked this very same question to DFI. This was their response:

    Dear Sir:

This matter has been passed to me for further review. In answer as to your original question regarding the differences between the UT and LT version of the X48-T2R I can offer a twofold explanation:

1: The main difference is that the LT version will not have the advanced heat-pipe system that the UT version has. The LT version still offers a heatsink for the NB though.
2: The UT version comes in a bigger box with a few more accessories (like cooling paste) than the LT version

The motherboard itself is exactly the same. It is basically just 2 different packaging methods, with differing accessories.

    Re: DFI X48 question

is anyone able to comment on the memory issue? all the product info pages i've seen say DDR2 800 - but i've seen screenshots of the BIOS that seem to suggest it will support upto at least 1066?
