Powercolor Ati 4870 1GB Price drops but I paid £190.34

I paid £190.34 for the ATI Powercolor 4870 1GB which I have not recived as it's not due until the 6th October which is stated on the website. Is there any chance of deducting £2.47 from my order? The price is now £187.87.

I'm pretty sure its Scan's policy that you pay the price at the time, regardless of whether the price drops or rises afterwards.

They should adjust that for you, otherwise cancel and reorder

Doesn't the money get taken when it gets shipped? (eBuyer, CCL, Novatech etc...) if not do what SiM said.

Some people's meanness staggers me. You've paid £200 for a graphics card and you're quibbling over less than 3 quid?

I don't see how thats mean, it's his money and he can do what he wants. If you're feeling so sorry for Scan then I'm sure you can cover their £3 loss by donating it to them (You or Mr Tight Arse caller). Don't want to? I didn't think so..

You didn't seem to want to pay the 74p and 76p (much less than the £2.47 so that makes you even meaner? it's even a discount! The OP is still willing to pay the discounted price anyway!) prices in this thread http://forums.hexus.net/scan-care-he...1-cheaper.html

It's funny how you're judging someone else when you've acted in the same way.

Not at all. I wasn't complaining about the 76p "discount" on the Today Only page. I was asking what was the point of a discount section where the discount is less than 1 %.
That level of discount is not going to influence my purchase at all. It just seemed pointless.

If the thread hadn't been closed (I believe one of the last acts of an ex mod) that point would probably have come out.

Credit crunch and all, £3 is worth saving as it quickly adds up... plus most half decent shops have a policy for always giving the lowest price when preorder prices fluctuate...

I believe you pay what ever the price was at the time of the order as I've used a today only just after (literally minutes) it changed but as the item was still in the basket I got the price from the previous today only.
On the terms page I'm pretty sure this
We shall not be bound to deliver the goods until you have paid for them. Payment shall be due when the agreement is made between us. Time for payment shall be of the essence. The price due from you is the price indicated as inclusive of value added tax.
basically means you when you've paid your stuck with the price you paid at the time. But if you've not paid, but have the order you pay the price as of the time of payment.

Wouldn't that post count as a quibble over something so small? It's still a discount no matter how small

But really theres no need to attack the dude if he wants his £3 back. Sure if he had receieved the card and then demanded it when the price dropped then you can let him have some stick, but there's still no stock of the item. No one likes paying more than what they have to.

I agree, perfectly reasonable to ask for a correction when it's not shipped - money can't be taken till then anyway by law. Maybe he'll give 3 quid extra to charity this month

Carl PM sent. Come on guys. £3 might not sound much 2 years ago, now with credit crunch and unemployment at record levels by December, £3 is worth saving.
