The new Intel Core i7 processor - Now LIVE and shipping.

Due to an Intel NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) being enforced we cannot advertise the product for sale (there are sites in the UK who are breaking the rules and charging extortionate prices in an attempt to lure you in).

BE WARNED THAT ANY ORDERS PLACED THROUGH NDA BREAKING SITES CANNOT BE SHIPPED BEFORE LAUNCH IN ANY CASE.

However, please be assured that once the launch date is officially announced, WE WILL HAVE STOCK AND OUR PRICE WILL BE GOOD

If you are interested with a view to buy the new Intel Core i7 processor 920, 940 or 965 on launch, please fill out the form below. We will put you on our hotlist of people to make contact with as soon as stock arrives. Please be assured that there is no commitment for you to buy whatsoever.

    Register your interest in i7.
Read the SCAN 3XS X58 Core i7 review.

All we can say is the Launch of the Hottest CPUs will be VERY soon.

That's actually the most expensive price I've seen for the i7 965. Disappointing.

I would never let this go after I have seen the asked price.

Is this a joke or what?

I had held on until Friday evening hoping you guys would make a very good price as stated by Chris, right I do understand we have to blame the exchange rate for exorbitant prices on the fly however your price is 15% higher than what I found.

Seriously do you think those prices that you are promoting for an I7 are good?

15% more is like 2X VAT, please next time check what you guys market or imply.

    Metroid

Thanks for the info.. I have replied..

To confirm to the forum i7 CPU pricing Metroid was comparing us to, was from another Retailer who doesn't have any stock, we have explained that it is likely that this retailer will up their price once their stock lands, hoping any customer's who have been sucked in with the low price will accept a higher price and keep their order.

When we compare our prices we are only looking at our closest competitors who have stock... From looking at our closest competitors who have physical stock our price is good.

Metroid also highlighted some other products, which we are looking into for him...

    Best Regards

Obviously, I have no idea who this is, so this is a general comment.

Unfortunately, this is a rather disreputable but not uncommon tactic. One method is as you suggest, and the price goes up when they do have stock. Meantime, they've prevented the order going to a competitor.

The other technique is the old bait-and-switch ..... bait the trap with a really good price, and when orders arrive ..... inform the customer that stock is really tight, you're expecting some shortly but it's really difficult for everybody .... but meantime, sir, we still have a few <insert whatever you've got too many of here> left, though they're selling fast ....

Years ago, I asked one pretty large (no longer trading) mail order company about availability of HP's original colour Laserjet, as they'd been advertising it. They told me they'd "sold out", but were getting more in "next week".

Well, I had one of those HP colour lasers sitting on my desk at the time I made that call, and according to HP's Press Manager, it was one of exactly TWO in the country at the time. It wasn't going to be available to buy for about 3 months. Sold out indeed.

I don't know who that retailer advertising that i7 price was, or what they were up to .... but it's not an uncommon technique, I'm sad to say.
