Yikes. PSU went Bang!!

Well, talk about cheap PSU's not lasting long! Turned my PC on this morning and my 525W Enermax MODU82+ went bang!!!! (Bought loads of Cheap PSU's over the last 2 years and not one of them has gone 'bang' or failed!)

Tested it with my trusty PSU tester. Dead!!

Well, have now RMA'd it back to Scan who have informed me that they won't be paying for my return postage!!! Had the PSU since October. It is faulty, dead, so i have to stump up the return postage for a faulty unit!! Thanks Scan.

Also, the PSU is not in stock now!!!

Can someone from Scan please confirm that the 525W Enermax MODU82+ has been discontinued? If so, can i have a Corsair 520 Modular PSU in its place?

Every PSu can go bang cheap ones and more expensive ones, different is when good one do it it will not take half of PC with it to heaven, when cheap one usually do

Anyway, sorry for your lost, R.I.P.

I just wonder what law says about returning cost if item is still under warranty? Saracen usually know this kind of staff

Reading on Silentpreview and a cuople of other sites that the 525W Enermax MODU82+ has been discontinued!!

Weslyaldred has said that Scan have been in touch with Enermax and they are 'Not' discontinued!!

So, watch this space!

Lets hope i get one asap as i need my PC up and running for work!!

The Enermax Modu82+ has great reviews and I don't know why they would discontinue it.
