    Forthcoming Event at SCAN - Overclocking & Gaming weekend - Saturday 16 MAY 2009

    Here is a quick update to one of the forthcoming events that's currently being planned at SCAN.

    BenchTec, the extreme overclocking and cooling pro’s, will be at Scan Saturday 16th MAY to demonstrate to the public basic overclocking with a hands on approach. Once the talk is over the fun begins showing you overclocking like you’re never seen it before – with LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen)! The ultimate goal is to break world records.

    The day will be split up into 3 main sessions covering overclocking of basic, mid range & extreme systems.

    Throughout the day there will be various gaming tournaments to challenge your skills.

    Choose from one of the following tournaments to participate in.

    Limited spaces available - so sign up now!

    Left4Dead Tournament - open to a maximum of 12 teams, 4 People Per team with each match lasting approx 20 mins. The teams that win their heat will advance to the Semi Final and Final respectively.

    Unreal Tournament - 2 v 1 a team of 2 People can challenge a single Dignitas player, the top 2 scores of the day will play in the final against each other and pick up 1st and 2nd place respectively. Matches last about 10 minutes, however this can be adjusted depending on number of applicants.

    GRID Tournament - 2 v 2 Race off Le Mans Style, 10 Laps but with a twist! Customers have to swap over on the 5th lap however the Dignitas drivers have to swap every 2 laps, if your team wins then you will progress to the latter stages, if no one manages to beat them then the fastest two teams will race off in the final. If only 1 team beats Dignitas then they are the winners out right.

    Please note, Scan have the right to refuse any entries.

    For more information and to register your interests for this event, please refer to the following link ;

    Will I have to game if I come? I'll probably be on my own so not in a team, only there for the clocking! The form wants team and name, or can i just turn up?

    Same. Hope you don't need to. I only want to see the overclocking.

    If you wish to come on your own and just check out the overclocking then that is fine mate, there is no requirement, just show up and enjoy.

    Many Thanks

    Hey guys. Should be a good laugh at the event, but dont discuss WR too loudly- WR at public demos should be classed as the first rule (of bench club) - dont talk about it!! Its hard enough getting them at the best of times without the "jinx" of public expectation.

    I wont be there BTW, im working

    Thanks to Scan for being willing to host it!
