    Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L

    Hi,

Does the Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L (LN24161) motherboard come with standoffs for fixing motherboard to case? I want to replace my motherboard but my current mother board has fewer fixing points than the Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L. My case is fairly old not sure of maunfacturer. Are standoffs universal? If so where can I get them from if they dont come with the Motherboard?

I look forward to your comments

    Martin

I took one of my old standoffs down to the local computer repair shop and bought a few extra of the right size.
Yes the size does vary - standoff and with my very old case thread size also.
Just to add motherboards never come with standoffs as they are case specific

Motherboard stand-offs are supplied with the cases, not with motherboards.

I found some spare standoffs for my case in a box of old computer screws etc.

If you get a thread that's a little too small - use a hex screw in the space to widen the hole. Careful though, you can make it bigger but not smaller

The standoffs I found are a perfect fit but the info you gave is useful to remember for the future

    Re: Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L

I just hope that the standoff holes in the case will line up with the fixing holes on the motherboard. I'll find this out next week when I replace the old motherboard
