    Quick question

    A fair while ago I purchased, amongst other things, a Seagate ST3503220AS 7200.11 drive that was advertised with 32mb cache. I recieved a drive with that label on it and thought nothing of it. Wasn't until I noticed a news story about reliability issues with this drive that I realised what I actually have is a ST3500820AS with 8mb cache (verified through Everest Ultimate).

    Obviously it's been a year and a half since I made the purchase (through finance if that makes a difference) but I don't have the item I paid for. Is anything that can be done to sort this? Is it even worth it??

    ask scan, maybe they record serial no of drives if they do then they may be able to change it as it would be their mistake

    One thing working in a similiar positon has taught me, there's sod all point going to the wall for the "principle" of the thing when it's not even something Scan could have prevented occuring.
