Asus P6T6 WS Revolution: 2-way SLI bridge too short

Hello

I raised an online query early this morning - no idea what the code was as I assumed I'd get an email acknowledging the submission.

Recently I purchased an Asus P6T6 WS Revolution motherboard (invoice number available upon request) containing, as indicated in the manual, both 2-way and 3-way SLI bridges.

The problem I have is that the 2-way SLI bridge is one slot too short. For 2-way SLI the manual recommends using slots 1 and 5, however the bridge will only reach between slots 1 and 4. At present I'm having to use the 3-way bridge to link the two cards but this intrudes upon one of the slots in between since the middle connectors get in the way.

I've been in contact with Asus who have at least acknowledged the problem - the 2-way bridge they supplied isn't long enough for what they tell you to do in the manual - however their recommendation was to contact the retailer.

After paying a premium for flexibility, I'd prefer to be able to use this product as it was intended.

Here's hoping someone at Scan can sort this out for me please

well Asus are the people who provide the bridge the only thing scan can do is if they have one laying around is to give you that but they dont need to. Its not like another same model mobo will have a longer bridge.

As far as i know if you use the 1st two x16 PCIE it should fit perfectly. I have done SLI before, the only time i can see a problem is if you doing tri SLI.

A google search shows others who originally received the incorrect bridge and after contacting Asus, received the correct one. I tried the same but I guess there was a language barrier - the replies I received indicate that my query wasn't properly understood.

Whilst technically possible (slots 1, 3 and 5 are all true x16 whilst 2 and 4 aren't in use), that does not get around the fact that I'm prevented from using the board as intended. Besides, using 1 and 5, as instructed in the manual, leads to more efficient cooling.

3-way SLI wouldn't be an issue, as I mentioned in the opening post, since I'm having to use the 3-way bridge anyway.

I simply want the parts and flexibility I paid for; the manual tells the user to use specific slots with the included bridge yet that bridge isn't long enough.

Yep, I'll admit I've considered buying the part elsewhere, but why should I? I've already paid for it once. Just wish Asus would have got their asses in gear sooner. Very disappointed so far - not with the product, just their handling of their users.

Apparently this is coming from ASUS China?, also remember this isn’t as simple as SCAN posting this out. We are in the middle here and we are helping as best we can. I admit that this shouldn’t be as difficult as it seems to be but this is out of our hands.

I will chase ASUS again now.

Thanks Chris. Thought I'd worded it clearly enough so as not to give any illusion that I was having a go at Scan. It's Asus who've failed to support a user and they were quite content to fob me off when going directly. Just gets me annoyed - shouldn't have to jump through hoops like this.
