    Passive PSU's

    Hi,

    I am possibly looking for a 450w - 500w passively cooled PSU, is this something that scan sell. I have looked on the site but can't see any. I look forward to your response

    Re: Passive PSU's

    Yes we stock passive, or fanless PSU's as they're labelled on the website and we have the following ;

    400W FSP ZEN Fanless PSU

    450W Silverstone 'nightjar' fanless PSU

    500W NorthQ Pacific II PSU

    I hope this information helps

    Best Regards,

    Dont go for a passive PSU. You can get one with a fan that makes zero noise anyway:

    450W Be Quiet Dark Power PRO BN071 Modular PSU 87% Eff
    Scan code LN22513

    I used one of these in a HTPC I built last week. You cant hear the fan even if you put your ear right up to it. If you listen really hard all you can hear is the air being blown - absolutely amazing and I would recommend it 1000% to anyone wanting a quiet PSU. I will for sure be using Be Quiet PSUs from now on.

    Re: Passive PSU's

    I used to have a Nesteq which was semi-fanless in my HTPC. The fan would cut in only when the PC was under heavy load, which helps to keep things cool.

    You write in the past tense, Did it burn out, or did you change it and if so why?

    Re: Passive PSU's

    lol, no it didn't burn out! I sold my HTPC and bought a laptop as it was more suited to my requirements. I happen to know that the PSU is still going strong
