    Western Digital Passport Elite problem...

    Hi guys,

I bought a 500GB Passport Elite off of you guys recently, and the USB cable appears to of failed (Was randomly powering on and off the drive, and the power on the driver was 'flicking'), has anyone else had this problem with the drive? And what type of replacement cable do I need?

Is the powering on and off problem likely to of affected the drive?

    Thanks a lot

I would recommend getting it replaced. Constantly powering on and off can cause issues and could affect the drive.

Not aware of the Sale of Goods Act then?

Thanks for your advice anyway, I've emailed WD.

Of course we are aware of the Sales of Goods act, however, this does not stop us from acting in the best interests of the customer and the fastest way to obtain a replacement is direct with the manufacturer, however, if time is not of the essence then by all means we can arrange the return directly to ourselves.
