I dont see any point in releasing stuff like this early. They're all going for peanuts with tiny profit margin for the seller, if the other e-tailors jump early it makes no difference. Scan would still sell all stock at this price.


If anything its in Scans interest to hold on as long as possible to get as many people focussing their wallets here once the competition have sold all of theirs

Scan guys... are you in a position to say what the conditions of the discount are? Was a stock limit for discount set by MSI or did they only give you a few, with the instruction "discount while stocks last" ?

As far as I am aware, each retailer was allowed to sell a set amount - about 30 - at the reduced price. They probably took more stock than that in though. So the idea is to get everyone interested and buying, but the discount is only available on a small sample. Then in theory people buy the others anyway.

I don't understand Scan's timing decision either tbh, but there's no point crying over spilt milk - we won't get an answer here I don't think, except for "apologies for those who believed they wouldn't be on sale until 2pm". Best thing is to say you are disappointed it was sold at a different time to what it was advertised, but at the end of the day they are a retailer and have no obligations to us, if they've made their money.. well that's why they're in business. Maybe they've annoyed MSI but that's between them and MSI.

How could they punish them? they need all the buisness they can get, MSI might be one of the top tier manufacturers but why wasnt this promo done in other countrys?

My guess is this, MSI don't have a very big customer base here in the UK as many people would think compared to Gigabyte, Asus so they put this promotion on so that people get to use their boards & then hopefully more people in the UK in the future they buy from MSI again.

However, do you really think that removing the names of competitors on a sponsored forum is over-zealous?
Try mentioning a competitor on the forums of the other stores and see where that gets you.

I know what you're saying, but in this instance we were sign posting to where these extremely limited products were on sale, whatever the competitor. It's not like we were saying "dont buy from scan, buy from here" - scan don't have any left (at promo price) because they sold early. These are community forums after all for help & support.
