    No free postage

Logged into Scan site, ordered parts, have had many orders with free postage, Scan now insist on charging me postage. Has the free postage deal for being a member of Hexus now ended then?

I tried this a few times, cleared cache, definitely not working for me.

I'm just after an SX Steel Series mouse mat and a coupla Noctua fans, not a big order, but there are lots of good online suppliers out there.

    help

    Re: No free postage

If the value of the order is over £20 (excluding vat & scansure) then there is another issue causing this.

Please PM me your real name & postcode and I'll investigate later for you.

    Re: No free postage

    David,

I received the below sent to me in an E-Mail on the 12th of November by someone called Carl from SCAN saying,

    Hi,

The free delivery did use to be £20 + VAT however this has been amended this week and now for free carriage the order has to be over £75 + VAT

Hope this clears up any confusion.

    Regards,

So does the applicable free delivery charge amount vary depending which forum you use then?

    Pookielydia,

It appears as though the minimum amount for free delivery has been increased if ordering using the AVForums carriage offer.

This has been confirmed by the Free carriage offer page on AVForums, currently the free delivery amount on Hexus is £20 + VAT.

    Regards,

    Re: No free postage

I've just logged in to Scan website and tried to order again and it's still showing a carriage charge.

The order is now for a pair of Be Quiet 92mm fans LN27980 and a Steel Series SX Mouse Mat LN23995 which total £54.88 plus VAT.

My last Scan order was less than a month ago for a WD 150Gb Velicoraptor HDD and I had no problems then.

I have PM'ed you the details you requested.

    Ok thanks Carl,

That's all I wanted verifying, r.e. if the applicable amount varied between forums.

    Thanks.

    Right - found the cause

We had a recent update regarding citylink addresses etc.

Carriage will show at the shopping cart screen - however, when you carry on to the next stage - you will see a very obvious red button under text that says "Important update required"

Update the details there - and your carriage rate will adjust accordingly.

This should hopefully help anyone else with the same issue.

    Re: No free postage

Ok, all sorted, order placed, received e-mail 'stage 4 of 4' at 17:56.

Didn't have to carry out actions as detailed in above thread, when I ordered again, the carriage wasn't shown so somebody at Scan must have tended to it.

Thanks for sorting it so quick.
