Unhappy Where on earth are the GTX 480's?

I've had an Asus 480 preordered since before monday the 12th and now nearly a fortnight later it still isn't in stock and neither are any of the others. I realise the volcanic ash cloud closing down airspace delayed things but surely it shouldn't have taken this long?

Can anyone from Scan give me any information on this? I've been waiting for a month and a half since my last cards packed in to play games on the pc again.

We can't provide any substantial information, other than that we are constantly chasing this, becuase of the supply chain issues it's really a case of they arrive, then they arrive. If you have pre-ordered stock will be allocated to you as soon as it lands and updates sent by e-mail.

Apologies we can't be more specific at the moment.

    Best Regards

Almost two weeks later now. Any new updates regarding the stock and more specifically the Asus GTX 480?

Edit: Oh great it's been delayed now for the nth time till the 31st of may

Re: Where on earth are the GTX 480's?

TSMC are only at 30% yield from what's reported out there on the web, hence the low amount of cards available. Nvidia/TSMC are working their hardest to produce working chips and ship to board partners but there are still issues with the 40nm production process for *both* cards at present and this, amongst supply chain issues such as volcanic ash (sounds silly, but our air freight deliveries are still overdue in some cases) and demand out stripping supply.

Hope this helps explain the situation a little more.

    All the best
